The brief

We made three bright red learning car simulator props for an interactive driving school event at the 2024 Goodwood revival. The 1950's style 'Betty Richmond Driving School' featured our three car simulators with buttons and moving parts that were placed in front of a projection playing driving scenarios, where people can have a go at passing their driving test.

They are very good, thank you so much.

  3. Spraying the car simulators with red paint in the spray room.

  6. Slotting the aluminium gear guide into position.

The Process

Once we had designed the car simulators we had them CNC cut and assembled, we then sourced car seats which we had upholstered to match the colour scheme, dials, lights, buttons and steering wheels, which we modified. The simulators had moving weighted pedals and a movable gear stick with an aluminium gear guide. The car and its base were then sprayed a high gloss vibrant red paint. The Simulators were delivered on site with our team there ready to install. The cars sat facing a wall with a projector displaying driving scenarios for people to have a go at passing their driving test in a 1950's themed driving school.
