The brief

These magnums had to look as though they had a bite taken out of them and the caramel inside is running down the side.

The Process

We began the process by sculpting one in polystyrene. We took a mould from this and cast one in fibreglass. We then added the nuts in clay and made a master mould from this. From this mould, we cast the two, into which we bonded the ice cream stick, which was cut from birch plywood with a printed vinyl Magnum logo adhered to it, and these were then fixed into painted MDF bases.

The Result

The finished Magnums looked almost good to eat and the paint work we did really gave them that authentic look.
