Ann Squared Curaprox Dental brush

  • Painted prop dental brushes hanging in the spray room.
  • Fitting the brushes to the end of the dental brushes.
  • Dental brush props hanging in the spray room with their finished paint job.

The brief

For a festival event that Curaprox were taking part in we were asked to make some giant brightly coloured interdental brushes to have on display that hang from their display tent roof. They included laser cut brushes and were painted to match the companies colours.

Prop process images

  1. Sculpting the dental brush out of polystyrene.
  2. Making the mould for the dental brush.
  3. All the dental brush fiberglass casts piled up ready to be finished.
  4. Curaprox Green and Blue finished painted dental brushes.
  5. A finished green Curaprox dental brush ready to be wrapped.
  6. Fitting the brushes to the end of the dental brushes.
  7. Freshly painted Curaprox Dental brush props hanging in the spray room, coloured green, orange, yellow and blue.
  8. Dental brush props hanging in the spray room with their finished paint job.

The Process

To start we sculpted the handle of the giant dental brush in polystyrene and then used that to make a mould to cast from so we could make 4 brushes. Once each of the brushes had been sanded to a smooth finish we then sprayed them the Curaprox bright colours, we drilled holes into the top and inserted the laser cut brushes, we added a small eye bolt in order for them to be hung from the ceiling.
