The brief

What better way to try trainers on in adidas than to sit on a giant shoe sofa, based on the Adidas original Campus trainer.

Prop process images

  1. Wrapping the rope around the base of the shoe to give a stitching effect.
  2. Building the wooden internal frame for the shoe sofa.
  3. Cutting and shaping the stripes for the side of the shoe.
  4. Applying the vinyl to the base around the shoe.
  5. Finish touches applied to the shoe sofa.
  6. Close up picture of the shoe sofa material.

The Process

We were asked to make a sofa shaped like an Adidas original Campus trainer. With a wooden internal structure the shoe sofa was then padded out and upholstered with material matching the shoe in texture and colour which created a soft backing and seat area, details such as the laces and stripes on the side were padded and hand stitched onto the shoe with fabric print also applied.

The Result

We always enjoy a job that's a bit unusual and a sofa shaped like a trainer is certainly that. We were very happy with the end result, as were the clients.
